How a table evening runs

01

Chips are issued at the door, one equal stack per guest, and counted back at the close. Nothing is bought and nothing is topped up.

02

Every table is run by one of our hosts, who explains the game in under two minutes and keeps the pace without a microphone.

03

Points go on a paper scorecard that the guest carries, so people can leave a table and come back without losing their place.

04

The standings board is filled in by hand at the close and read out from the floor. That board is the whole outcome of the evening.

What the venue needs

  • Clear floor of 12 m² per table plus circulation; the format pages give the area for each layout.
  • Two 16 A circuits for lighting and sound, one on its own breaker.
  • Goods access at least 1.2 m wide, ground level or a working service lift.
  • A side table or small room for chip counting at the start and the close.

House rules.

There are no stakes, no cash winnings and no online casino. Entry is 18+.

Questions

Are the table games in this category gambling?

No. Chips are props, issued free and counted back at the end of the night. They cannot be bought, topped up or exchanged for money, goods, vouchers or valuable prizes, there are no stakes or cash winnings, and nothing runs online. Guests play for position on a standings board. Entry is 18+.

Can a guest get more chips during the evening?

No. Every guest is issued the same stack at the door and that is the stack for the night. Hosts do not hand out extras and there is nothing to buy, which also keeps the standings board honest.

Do you bring the hosts or do we staff the tables?

We bring them. Every table in this category is run by one of our trained hosts, and the host count for each programme is listed in its package. If your team wants to try running a table, that is Dealer School.
