Terms ofservice.
These terms describe how an event is ordered, paid for, changed and cancelled, and where responsibility sits between us and you. They apply to every written offer we issue unless that offer says otherwise in writing.
Last updated: 2026-10-19
Who these cover
Chip Clash as the service provider, and the client named on the written offer as the host of the event. Guests are not party to these terms; the client is responsible for the event towards them.
What we supply
Event production: the equipment, crew, setup, written running order and teardown listed in the package of the programme named on the offer.
We do not supply the venue, catering, drinks, service staff for catering, accommodation, or any permit the venue requires.
Prices and offers
Each programme carries one final price for the whole event, tax included. It is not multiplied by the guest number and it does not fall if fewer guests attend.
The price is the same across the country. Travel beyond 150 km from Havre-Saint-Pierre is the only line that may be added, and it is named on the offer before signature.
An offer is valid for 14 days from its date unless it states otherwise.
An enquiry is not a booking
Sending the enquiry form does not reserve a date, and neither does our reply. The date is held only once the offer has been signed and the advance payment has reached our account.
Advance payment and balance
An advance payment of 30 percent of the price confirms the date. The remaining 70 percent is due no later than seven days after the event, against an invoice.
If the advance payment does not arrive by the date stated on the offer, the date is released without further notice.
Changes you ask for
Changes inside the package, listed under "what we can change inside the price" on the programme page, cost nothing if they reach us at least 14 days before the date.
A change of date is possible once at no fee if it reaches us at least 30 days ahead and we have the crew and kit free on the new date.
A change that adds equipment or crew is quoted as an addition and confirmed in writing before we commit to it.
Cancellation
By you, more than 30 days before the date: the advance payment is retained and nothing further is owed.
By you, 30 days or fewer before the date: 50 percent of the price is owed, because crew and kit are already committed.
By you, 7 days or fewer before the date: the full price is owed.
By us, for any reason within our control: all sums paid are returned in full within 14 days, and we help you find a replacement supplier.
Weather and events outside our control
For outdoor layouts we agree a written rain plan with a named indoor fallback at least 14 days ahead, and either side may call the fallback on the day on safety grounds.
If an event becomes impossible through something neither side controls, we reschedule once without a fee, or return all sums paid less costs already and unavoidably incurred, itemised in writing.
What the venue has to allow
The floor area, power, access and load-in window stated on the venue sheet. The client is responsible for obtaining these from the venue.
If access or power on the day does not match the venue sheet and the programme cannot be run safely as specified, we will run the closest version possible; the price does not change and we are not liable for the difference.
Guests, age and conduct
Participation is 18+. Door control is the client's responsibility.
Our crew may stop a table, a station or the programme if a guest endangers people or equipment, and will tell the client's contact first wherever the situation allows it.
No prize of money or of material value may be announced or handed out for a result in any programme. This is a condition of the booking, not a preference.
Equipment and damage
All equipment, props and chips remain our property and leave with us. Props chips have no value and are not redeemable for anything.
The client is responsible for damage to our equipment caused by guests or by the venue during the event, at documented replacement or repair cost.
Liability
We are liable for damage we cause through our own fault, up to the price of the event, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost profit.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for bodily injury caused by our fault.
TODO: have counsel confirm the liability wording and the insurance cover to be cited here.
Complaints
Write to [email protected] within 14 days of the event, describing what went wrong. We answer in writing within 14 days and we say plainly whether we agree.
Applicable law
The laws applicable in the province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada apply, and the courts of the judicial district of the client's event location have jurisdiction unless the offer names another.
TODO: have counsel confirm the jurisdiction clause and the consumer-contract rules that apply to private, non-business clients.
